Recently, a new restaurant opened its doors near my office in Marol, Andheri East, Mumbai. The name of the restaurant is Persiana Hyderabadi Biryani. Filled with curiosity and excitement, my colleagues and I decided to pay it a visit on June 5th, 2023. Our expectations were high as we eagerly anticipated indulging in their speciality: Chicken Tikka Hyderabadi Dum Biryani and other enticing dishes like Chicken Garlic and Chicken Kepsa Biryani. However, our dining experience left us with mixed feelings, particularly regarding the portion sizes and pricing. In this blog post, I will provide an honest review of our visit to this newly opened establishment.
The Ambiance: Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The décor was tastefully done, with a blend of modern and traditional elements. The seating arrangement was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and attentive.
The Culinary Journey: As we perused the menu, our taste buds were already tingling with anticipation. We decided to try their highly recommended Chicken Tikka Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, along with the Chicken Garlic and Chicken Kepsa Biryani, both in medium-sized portions meant to serve two people. I really liked the Golden Spoons and black colour plate combination.
The Disappointment: Unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment when our orders arrived. The portion sizes of each dish were considerably smaller than expected, especially considering the pricing. The Chicken Tikka Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, although flavorful, lacked the generous amount of succulent chicken we had hoped for. The Chicken Garlic and Chicken Kepsa Biryani also fell short in terms of quantity, leaving us craving for more.
The Flavors and Quality: Despite the disappointment in portion sizes, we must acknowledge that the flavours of the biryanis were indeed noteworthy. The Chicken Tikka Hyderabadi Dum Biryani boasted a tantalizing blend of aromatic spices and tender chicken, while the Chicken Garlic and Chicken Kepsa Biryani delivered on taste with their unique combinations. The quality of the ingredients was evident, but the insufficient quantity overshadowed the overall dining experience.
Value for Money: Considering the pricing of the dishes, we expected more value for our money. While the taste was commendable, the small portions left us feeling unsatisfied, leaving a dent in our wallets.
Conclusion: Our visit to this newly opened restaurant in Andheri East, Mumbai, left us with mixed feelings. While the ambience was inviting, and the flavours of the biryanis were impressive, the disappointment in portion sizes and pricing overshadowed our overall experience. It is our hope that the restaurant takes customer feedback into consideration and addresses the concerns raised. For now, we would recommend potential visitors be aware of the portion sizes before placing their orders.
